NECA Teases Pacific Rim Hardship Figure

Is there anything cooler then the Deluxe kaiju Pacific Rim figures from NECA? Well, there's another one coming, and it's just as awesome as all its big, bad monster brethren!

Behold, Hardship!

Teased last month at San Diego Comic Con, Hardship is one of the first monsters to arise from deep within the ocean to attack mankind. The beast is intercepted by the Mark-I Jaeger known as Romeo Blue, who fights and kills the creature.

As can be seen from the image above, NECA's Hardship figure will feature some superb attention to detail in the form of its small chest appendages, knife-like head protrusion and highly detailed armour. As with other Pacific Rim figures, Hardship has been created using the digital files straight from the archives over at ILM.

Look for this massive monster to be released soon!

Happy Monster Monday, Infinite Earths fans!

Stunt Doubles Return To Suicide Squad Set

Principal photography on David Ayer's Suicide Squad has wrapped, but stunt doubles are still hard at work on the Toronto set putting some final scenes together for the DC Cinematic Universe action flick.

Warning: Spoilers Follow...

Stunt doubles for Ben Affleck, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto were spotted on set this past Friday, shooting a rather intense looking action sequence that, according to E-Talk Canada, sees Batman punching through the roof of Joker's car, while he and Harley Quinn sit inside. The scene also saw the hot rod plunging into the water just as the Caped Crusader repels off the car at the last second.

It is still unclear just where this sequence will fit into the film, however we don't have that much longer to wait as David Ayer's Suicide Squad hits theatres on August 5, 2016!

Check out some awesome snapshots from the set posted below...

The Flash: Tony Todd Is The Voice Of Zoom

Candyman star Tony Todd has been cast as the voice of Zoom in Season 2 of The Flash. He will make his debut to the series in the second episode of the season, Flash of Two Worlds.

“Last year, with the Reverse-Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh’s voice, and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Variety. “Part of the mystery of the season is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit, and so we wanted to do something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader — this iconic voice coming out of this mask. Last year, we thought of the Reverse-Flash as a speed warrior; this year, Zoom is like a speed demon, and no one does demon-voice better than Tony Todd.”

He continues: “The Zoom outfit is much more organic than the Reverse-Flash suit. In a way, it’s hard to tell if it is a suit or alive… There’s no skin showing, for all you know there’s a robot underneath, or dark energy.”

Kreisberg says they are planning on drawing out the mystery of Zoom this season “like a horror movie — ‘who’s the killer? Who’s under the mask?'”

Zoom will not be Todd's first foray into the DC Universe. He's voiced Icon on Young Justice, Darkseid in the Lego DC Comics Super Heroes video games and Asteroth on Batman: The Brave and the Bold. In addition, Todd also portrayed Earl Jenkins in the first season of Smallville.

The Flash returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, October 6, 2015.

Director Wes Craven Passes Away

Sad news has made it our way this morning. Director Wes Craven, known for directing A Nightmare on Elm Street and four Scream movies, has passed away at the age of 76.

The director, whose iconic Freddy Krueger character horrified viewers for years, died at his home in Los Angeles last night after a battle with brain cancer.

Craven claimed to have gotten the idea for his Elm Street film from living next to a cemetery on a street of that name in Cleveland. The five Nightmare on Elm Street films were released from 1984-89.

He would conceive and co-write the sequel and would return a decade later writing and directing Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, which was nominated for best feature at the 1995 Spirit Awards.

Then, in 1996, Craven would achieve a new level of success with the release of Scream, which would gross over $100-Million domestically, as did Scream 2 in 1997.

More recently, Wes Craven, who was actually a faithful follower of us here at Infinite Earths through his official Twitter account, was executive producing the new Scream series for MTV. The upcoming season finale will pay tribute to the director.

As always, this is not the type of news we enjoy covering, but we have no doubt that Mr. Craven's legacy in the genera of horror and suspense will live on for years to come!

Terminator : Genisys Scores Big in China

Terminator: Genisys may not be getting sufficient attention here in North America, but overseas in China is a completely different story.

The Alan Taylor directed sequel raked in a whopping $27.4-Million opening day in China, giving it the fourth biggest opening in that territory to date!

That's right, Terminator: Genisys is a huge hit in China! And given Arnold Schwarzenegger's popularity in that market, we can't say we're all that surprised.

Given this overseas surge, Forbes estimates that, by the time the film has finished its theatrical run, it could bring in a very respectable $450 - $500-Million worldwide.

Not to shabby a take and those numbers might just be enough to get Paramount Pictures moving ahead with a sequel after all.

What do you think, Infinite Earths fans? Are you happy to see Terminator: Genisys succeeding overseas and the chance of a sequel growing ever more plausible?

Based off the hugely popular video game series, the movie will open in theaters on December 21, 2016.

Hardcore gamers will no doubt be scratching their heads as they attempt to figure out just who Callum Lynch really is. Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Big Bang Theory To Feature Force Awakens Storyline

The ninth season of The Big Bang Theory will continue the hit sitcom's obsession with all things Star Wars this coming Fall!

Executive producer Steve Molaro has confirmed that the show will feature a storyline focused on J.J. Abrams upcoming epic, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Said Molaro while speaking with TVLine: “We’re talking about how that will be weaved into [the guys’] lives,” he says of the J.J. Abrams-helmed pic, which lands in theaters on December 18th. “And we have some really cool ideas.”

This new development should come as no surprise to avid viewers of the popular sitcom.

Throughout the show's eight previous seasons, Star Wars movies, video games and television shows have all been referenced in one form or another. Veteran franchise actors James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher have even appeared in past episodes.

Molaro concedes, “it would be weird for us not to mention” the film.

“Obviously, we’re all excited about it, just as human beings — and the characters are as well,” Molaro concludes, adding, “I don”t know exactly how it’s going to play in, but it won’t be ignored.”
