Red Hood To Show Up In Solo Batman Movie?

It's rumor time! Sources have informed our friends over at JoBlo that the first solo Batman movie will feature the Red Hood, the alter ego of former Boy Wonder Jason Todd. This popular anti-hero is set to factor largely into the first solo Batman movie, which is said to be based off of the famous story arcs A Death in the Family and Under the Red Hood.

For those who don't know, Todd was beaten to death by the Joker in A Death in the Family, a story that let the fans decide his fate with a simple phone call. In the end, Todd went to his grave, but later returned in the 2005 tale Under the Red Hood as the masked vigilante of the same name.

Todd would return to Gotham where he would use any means at his disposal to exact revenge upon those who wronged him in the past. Not afraid to use weapons or kill those who get in his way, Jason Todd effectively became the type of vigilante his former mentor abhors.

JoBlo has learned that the plot of the first solo Batman movie will see Jason Todd returning to Gotham, working in the shadows to make the city's denizens believe that he is the Dark Knight. Todd leaves clues to his identity behind for Bruce to find and the film will apparently end with a confrontation between Batman, Red Hood and The Joker.

Additionally, they have learned that Dick Grayson, who is now fighting crime as Nightwing, will factor into the film. It is also said he will be mentioned, but not seen, in Batman v Superman.

Sounds exciting to us! Remember, this is all rumors and speculation at this point, so we suggest taking this story with a grain of salt until something is officially announced.

What do you think? Would you like to see Red Hood make his DC Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming solo Batman movie? We sure would!

Alien 5 Put On Hold

Ridley Scott will begin work on his Prometheus sequel in Australia early next year. Entitled Alien: Paradise Lost, the status of the upcoming movie has left many fans wondering where this left Neill Blomkamp's highly anticipated Alien 5.

Now, thanks to the director himself, we have an answer. Blomkamp took to his official Twitter account to announce that, for the time being, his Alien movie is currently on hold.

Despite the fact that an image of a brand new pulse rifle for Alien 5 was teased on Blomkamp's Instagram account earlier this month, we're beginning to wonder if this could possibly be the end for his sequel. We're in no way saying it is, but with Blomkamp moving on to other projects and Ridley Scott discussing the possibility of more Prometheus movies, we can't help but wonder.

All we can say for now is - Stay Frosty, Marines! Until something is officially announced from the studio, Alien 5 is simply on hold and nothing more.

We'll be sure to update as more details are released.

Jurassic World Hybrids Line Uncovered

Although fans may not have felt a lot of love for Hasbro's Jurassic World toy line, it has been selling well since its launch this past Spring. In fact, the line has been selling so well that Hasbro has been unable to keep up with demand and is preparing to release a follow-up line known as Jurassic World Hybrids.

Rumors of a follow-up line have been circulating for a while now, but the cat has officially been let out of the bag thanks to forum members over at JPToys. A Toys R Us supervisor uncovered the line within the store's UPC listings, and those listings were later confirmed by JPToys staff member Chris Pugh.

There are no pictures of the newly revealed figures yet, and these probably won't be released until some time early in 2016, but it's still exciting to see the line expanding into something new. While details of the line are scarce at this time, it is believed the figures to be featured in this line could be based off the Jurassic World game from Ludia.

Check out the listings below...

Jurassic World Alpha Cycle and Hybrid Raptor Pack -$19.99 - UPC 63050946452
Jurassic World Hybrid Raptor 1 B8635 Growler -$14.99 - UPC 63050946453
Jurassic World Hybrid Armor Ankylosaurus B8629 Basher Biter UPC 63050945936
Jurassic World Hybrid Armor Indominus Rex B8628 Basher Biter UPC 63050945937
Jurassic World Hybrid SpinoRaptor B8633 Basher Biter UPC 63050946348
Jurassic World Hybrid Stegoceratops B8632 Basher Biter UPC 63050946349
Jurassic World Hybrid CarnoRaptor B8631 Basher Biter UPC 63050946350
Jurassic World Hybrid Dilophosaurus Rex B8630 Basher Biter UPC 63050946449

Okay, first off, we are not certain if this will be the entire line as a previously rumored 'Jurassic Hybrids T Rex B6524 $24.99' listing is not present here.

Additionally, does that Alpha Cycle and Hybrid Raptor pack mean that we're finally going to get an Owen Grady figure? Again, we don't know, but that listing certainly makes us think so.

If this is indeed the case, we're going to hazard a guess and say that set will probably be a repaint of the Jurassic Park III Raptor Motorcycle Pursuit set from 2001, but we could be wrong.

Also, given that a few of the dinosaurs listed above can be found in the Jurassic World game from Ludia, we're inclined to believe that these toys will be based off some of the in-game dinosaurs.

In any case, this is awesome news! Here's hoping this new line will quell the aches of many fans disappointed with the first Jurassic World figures Hasbro gave us.

Images should start surfacing between now and January, with the full assortment shown off at Toy Fair in February. Expect the Jurassic World Hybrids line to arrive at retail sometime in the Spring of 2016.

More news on this story as it develops.
