Matches Malone Is Coming To Gotham

Last week, when Silver mentioned M. Malone as the man who killed Bruce Wayne's parents, fans across the globe came to the conclusion that this was none other then Matches Malone. And it looks like we all were right.

Our friends over at ComicBook.com have exclusively learned that Breaking Bad actor Michael Bowen has been cast in the role of Patrick "Matches" Malone. He will debut in the second half of Season 2 some time in 2016.

The character is described as follows: "One of Gotham's deadliest killers, Matches Malone is a weathered, philosophical hitman who may be the triggerman behind one of the most important crimes in Gotham's history."

In thru comics, Malone is a small-time crook. Bruce Wayne adopts Malone's identity, after he dies, when he needs to go undercover amongst Gotham's criminals.

Thus, the Gotham version is somewhat different from his comic counterpart and is sure to play an important part in the story of Bruce Wayne moving forward.

Gotham airs Monday nights at 8pm on Fox. After tonight, the show returns on February 29, 2016 for the second half of Season 2.

Meet Gotham's Mr. Freeze

Victor Fries, known also by his alter ego Mr. Freeze, is set to join the villains of Gotham during tonight's Fall finale. Now, thanks to USA Today, we have a first look at Nathan Darrow's take on the iconic Batman villain ahead of tonight's exciting episode.

Thankfully, this version features a much more real-world grounded look compared to the campy, over-the-top version portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman and Robin back in 1997.

In Gotham, Fries is a  Wayne Enterprises cryogenics engineer working to save his terminally ill wife, Nora. Darrow spoke with USA Today about the character saying: "Victor has one central intimate human connection, and that’s with his wife. There’s something really, really interesting and vulnerable and difficult about that. Of course, that is threatened by her illness."

An early look at Victor Fries' Freeze Gun

Fans will have to wait until the February 29th mid-season premiere for most of the character's story, but Darrow assures fans that the wait will be worth it. "I will tell you we’re going to see Mr. Freeze do some things we have never seen him do," he teased. Our guess is not use opening lines like "Ice to meet you", but we could be wrong.

Starring Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, James Frain, Jessica Lucas, David Mazouz, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Cory Michael Smith, Nathan Darrow and Michael Chiklis, Gotham kicks off its Fall finale tonight at 8pm.

Predator 4 Script Complete

Writer Fred Dekker has updated his official Facebook page with a post that should excite Predator fans, who've eagerly been awaiting an update on the recently announced Predator 4.

Since the film was announced back in June 2014, news and updates on the project has been pretty sparse, but Dekker has now revealed that the screenplay for the upcoming film is done and has been handed in.

Very few other details are known about the film. We do know that Shane Black, who played Hawkins in the original Predator and helped flush out the film's story, will be directing the new movie. He is also co-writing the script with Fred Decker, known for his work on The Monster Squad, Robocop 3 and Star Trek: Enterprise.

It was originally reported that Predator 4 would be a reboot of the iconic franchise, but Black later revealed that it will in fact be, what he calls, an "inventive sequel." It is also known that Robert Rodriguez is not involved with the project.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has also said he has yet to be contacted about appearing in the new film, as many fans hope, but expressed nothing but confidence in the writing capabilities of Shane Black.

What do you guys think Shane Black and Fred Dekker have planned for the next Predator movie? What would you like to see? Be sure to let us know.

R2-KT Appearing In The Force Awakens

Star Wars fans near and far know the story behind the little pink Astromech Droid named R2-KT.

501st Legion founder Albin Johnson came up with the idea in 2004 shortly after learning his daughter Katie had an inoperable brain tumour. One day, while attending church, Albin noticed one of the building's windows was shaped like an R2 unit and that was when the idea came to him to create an R2 Droid that could watch over Katie while she slept.

Katie's older sister suggested painting it pink and naming it after Katie. Thus, R2-KT was born.

Albin would reach out to the R2 Builders Club in 2005 and told them about his desire to have an R2 unit built for his dying daughter. The club jumped into action and pulled all their resources to help make Albin's dream a reality.

In August of 2005, Katie passed away in her sleep. Since then, Albin has used the Droid as a beacon of hope, bringing it to countless charity events, to visit children in hospitals and to Star Wars events all across the country.

This story had such a profound affect on the Star Wars community that Hasbro created an R2-KT action figure released at San Diego Comic Con and the droid even made a cameo in the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie.

This year, Mattel even released a Star Wars Celebration exclusive R2-KT Hot Wheels car.

Now Albin has announced that R2-KT is set to make its live-action debut in Star Wars: The Force Awakens this December. "Mary Franklin of Lucasfilm asked me to pitch the idea to Kathleen Kennedy and after hearing the story of our pink ambassador of hope Lucasfilm requested we ship her off to London early last year,” he wrote. "Quick repairs were made and off she went for six months."

So, be sure to keep your eyes open during The Force Awakens for everyone's favorite little beacon of hope - R2-KT.

Starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie and Max von Sydow, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18th.

New Wonder Woman Set Pics Surface

Filming on Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman is now in full swing over in the United Kingdom and, this past weekend, Gal Gadot,Chris Pine and others were spotted on the Essex set of the highly anticipated DC Cinematic Universe movie.

Additional confirmation comes as a result of some British propaganda posters scattered around the set commonly seen between 1914 - 1918.

Will The Arrow/Flash Crossover Feature Velocity 9?

By the sounds of a recent EW Spoiler Room column, it is possible that the Flash/Arrow crossover will be giving Jay Garrick his speed back by introducing the Velocity 9 serum to the DC TV Universe.

In the comics, Velocity 9, developed by Vandal Savage, is a serum capable of bestowing super speed capabilities upon any who use it.

"Jay is summoned to S.T.A.R. Labs in an urgent matter from Wells,” said Teddy Sears, who plays Jay Garrick on the show. “Jay shows up only to find out that Wells wants Jay to be his guinea pig. He is toying with a substance that has its history in the lore of The Flash, so it’s something from the comics. He wants to try it on Jay to see if it works because he wants to use this on Barry in their fight to bring down Zoom. Jay doesn’t react very well to that. He doesn’t want to be a part of Wells’ schemes. There will be some life threatening moments in there and we have to use a combination of science and ingenuity and Wells’ mysterious substance to get to a safe conclusion.”

While the serum is not mentioned by name here, there is still a good possibility that Velocity 9, a substance that has its history in the lore of The Flash,  could very well be the answer to restoring Jay Garrick's super speed in the upcoming Flash/Arrow crossover.

Velocity 9 ended up having long-term health affects on some of its users in the pages of DC Comics, especially those not prepared to connect with the Speed Force.

Now, the question is - will Wells' serum work? Will it end up resulting in health issues for Jay Garrick? Will Wells use it? And, will it be used to bestow super speed to Jesse Quick?

So many questions! Here's hoping the upcoming crossover, kicking off on Tuesday, December 1st, will answer some of them.

Gremlins 3 Is Coming - And It's No Reboot

The Gremlins will soon be back on the silver screen - and NOT as a remake.

Zach Galligan - star of the original 1984 film, and its 1990 sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch - has revealed that the iconic film series is soon to become a trilogy.

The 51-year-old actor, who played Billy Peltzer in the first two Gremlins movies, shared the news following a screening of the 1984 film in London earlier this week.

"It's not going to be a reboot. It will not be a remake in any way, shape, or form," Galligan revealed, stressing that the third film will continue where the series left off 25 years ago.

He also informed the audience that the third film will be closer in tone to beloved original - more horror than comedy. It may also include characters from the original movies, but he was unsure if he'd be asked to return as Billy Peltzer once again.

You can check out a video below of Galligan discussing the upcoming Gremlins sequel below...

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Gets PG-13 Rating

We're under three weeks away from the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which has been given an official rating of PG-13 ahead of its debut on December 18th.

Most mainstream blockbusters receive this rating nowadays. This year alone, eight of the top 10 films of 2015, including Jurassic World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Furious 7 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, have been stamped with a PG-13 rating.

The reason behind this rating by the MPAA is due to "sci-fi action violence." This is entirely appropriate for a film like this and should come as no surprise given that the last live-action Star Wars movie, Revenge of the Sith, received the same rating in 2005 for "sci-fi violence and some intense images."

All other films in the Star Wars saga have been rated PG.

A Flash/Supergirl Crossover May Be Happening

Once again, we advise our readers to take the following with a grain of salt. The following is simply a rumor, for the time being, and nothing more.

With that said, a reliable source has informed our friends at Bleeding Cool that a possible crossover between the hit DC Entertainment shows The Flash and Supergirl could be in the works for May sweeps week.

That is if CBS orders the optional back nine episodes for Supergirl, which was given an initial run of 13 episodes to kick off its premiere season. The network apparently feels Supergirl may need a slight ratings boost at that time and feel a crossover may pull this off.

Granted, this would mean a cross network undertaking with one show on The CW and the other on CBS. However, half of The CW is actually owned by CBS (the other half is the property of Warner Bros.), so this may not actually end up being as impossible to pull off as originally thought.

Sources later informed Bleeding Cool that the crossover may deal with a story from the comics involving New Krypton – that comic saw 100,000 Kryptonians come to Earth after Brainiac freed them from the Bottle City of Kandor, with a new planet being built for them.

Again, this is just a rumor and, while Supergirl has slipped slightly in the ratings, it had the #1 Fall debut earlier this season and is still doing well for a show in its very first year.

Honestly, while we wouldn't be surprised to see CBS order the additional nine episodes, and even see the series renewed for Season 2, we would be surprised if a crossover actually happened.

That's not to say we wouldn't love it though.

In any case, for now, this is just a rumor.

New Green Lantern Corps Rumors Emerge

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. announced a Green Lantern Corps film this past summer at San Diego Comic Con. Set for release on June 19, 2020, not many details have been shared about the film since its announcement.

However, our friends over at JoBlo may have unearthed some possible details about the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe entry. Apparently, the film is being approached as a buddy-cop actioner set in space. Or, to be more specific, "Lethal Weapon in space." And playing the roles of Riggs and Murtaugh will be Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

Additionally, they add the following: "There is also discussion about including a gay superhero in the DCEU ranks, although according to my sources it's not something set in stone, but definitely under serious consideration for at least one major character."

Does this mean we may see the Earth 2 version of Green Lantern Alan Scott? It's a possibility, but, as was mentioned above, it's not something currently set in stone.

Green Lantern Corps hits theatres on June 19, 2020.

Retro-Style Star Wars: The Force Awakens Posters Are Here

We're just under three weeks away from the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and to mark the occasion, three brand new posters for the film have been revealed.

All three posters are done in a classic, retro-style, forgoing imagery in favour of simple quotes and logos for the film. All three have been done in homage to the original Star Wars poster released in 1977.

A big part of the marketing campaign for The Force Awakens has been one focused around nostalgia, and these three new posters continue to support this reminder.

Alien: Covenant To Kick Off New Trilogy

Sir Ridley Scott has revealed that Alien: Covenant will be the first of three brand new films that will eventually link up with his phenomenal 1979 classic, Alien.

The director recently discussed the film at a press conference in Sydney, Australia.

“Its a very complex story. Its an evolution of what I first did with Prometheus 1,” he said of the new film, which tells the story of the crew of the colony ship Covenant, who discover what they think is an uncharted paradise but is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

“Prometheus 1 was borne out of my frustration that on Alien 1 in 1979 – I only did one as I don’t normally do sequels. I was amazed that in the 3 that followed  that no-one asked the question “why the Alien, who made it and why?” Very basic questions. So I came up with the notion of Prometheus 1, which starts to indicate who might have made it and where it came from."

"So I’m now going to the next one, which is the next evolution directly connected with the first one, which was this Shaw, when he replaced Michael Fassbender in two pieces and we’ll kind of pick it up there and it will evolve. When that’s finished there’ll be another one and then another one which will gradually drive into the back entrance of the film in 1979," the director revealed.

“So in other words, why was this space jockey there and why did he have an Alien inside him? And those questions will be answered,” he added.

Shooting will be  a mix of location and studio shoots with location requiting “monumental forest and monumental rock and the rest will be in the studio with fairly formidable CGI. The Martian was made for the most part 94 pecent in a Budapest studio. With green screen I now can’t tell what was studio and what was shot in Wadi Rum.”

Michael Fassbender is set to reprise his Prometheus role as the synthetic David. He will be arriving in Sydney for a 16- week shoot beginning in mid-March. In addition, Noomi Rapace will also be back for Alien: Covenant, but will only appear briefly in the film, according to Ridley Scott.

Alien: Covenant opens in theaters on October 6, 2017.
