Junkie XLTo Score Justice League

Composer Junkie XL is returning to the DC Expanded Universe.

Following his work on the rousing, epic score behind Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Junkie XL will score Zack Snyder's next superhero epic - Justice League.

The announcement was made during a recent press junket on the London set of the film.

Mad Max: Fury Road brought the work of the electronic music veteran to the attention to a lot of people. He has also worked on such films as 300: Rise of an Empire and the Point Break remake. There is no doubt that his score, alongside Hans Zimmer, for Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice was one of the very best things about the film, and we must admit that we're super excited to hear that he's returning to the DC Expanded Universe with his epic brand of music once again.

We're sure it'll be one of many standout factors making up the film.

Starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Ray Fisher, Willem Dafoe and J.K. Simmons, Justice League hits theatres on November 17, 2017.

Disney Officially Announces Wreck It Ralph 2

Disney made a pretty big announcement on Facebook Live this morning - Wreck It Ralph 2 will arrive in theatres in 2018. Rich Moore will be back as director with Phil Johnson back to write the script and co-direct alongside Moore. Additionally, John C. Reilly will return to voice Ralph.

Read the full press release posted below...

BURBANK, Calif. (June 30, 2016) – Wreck-It Ralph is heading back to the big screen, and this time, he’s wrecking the internet. The Oscar®-nominated Walt Disney Animation Studios team from the original film is reteaming for the follow-up, including director Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “The Simpsons”) and producer Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Bolt”). Phil Johnston (writer, “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” “Cedar Rapids”) joins Moore as director and a writer on the project. John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman return as the bad-guy-turned-good, Ralph, and the girl with the game-winning glitch, Vanellope von Schweetz. The untitled sequel will hit theaters—literally—on March 9, 2018.

The filmmakers and Reilly made the announcement on Facebook Live today:
https://www.facebook.com/Disney/videos/10153760073335954/

“From the moment we started working on the first ‘Wreck-It Ralph,’ we knew there were so many possibilities with these characters,” said Moore, who has been developing it since shortly after the release of the first film, and while directing this year’s critically-acclaimed hit “Zootopia” with Byron Howard. “This time, Ralph’s wrecking wreaks havoc on the Web—as only he can do. Characters we loved in the first film are back and we are ecstatic to be working with them—and the actors who voice them—once again.”

“The world of the internet is the perfect place to send Ralph and Vanellope,” said Johnston. “The scope and scale are so vast and the possibilities for comedy are endless.”

“Ralph is a character very near and dear to my heart,” added Reilly. “I'm really looking forward to playing the big lug again. Making the first ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ was one of the most special experiences I've ever had and I'm really looking forward to bringing him back to life. So many kids I've met all over the world are excited to see him again, too. They tell me all the time!”

When “Wreck-It Ralph” opened on Nov. 2, 2012, it turned in the highest opening weekend ever for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film at the time of release. Nominated for an Oscar® and Golden Globe® for best animated feature, “Wreck-It Ralph” won the PGA Award for outstanding producer of an animated theatrical motion picture as well as five Annie Awards, including best animated feature, director, cast and screenplay. The film was named best animated feature by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, earned outstanding achievement in casting for an animated feature by the Casting Society of America, and won the Kids’ Choice Award for favorite animated movie.

Pacific Rim 2 Gets 2018 Release Date

More and more news surrounding Pacific Rim 2 continues to rise to the surface these days. We know that former Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight will direct the film, with Guillermo del Toro producing and Derek Connolly penning the script. It was also recently revealed that Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor John Boyega has been cast as the film's lead - the son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost.

Now, Universal and Legendary Pictures have announced that Pacific Rim 2 will hit theatres on February 23, 2018. It's a weekend with no real competition, but the weekend before one of those untitled Fox / Marvel movies.

Read the press release posted below...

John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) leads the cast of PACIFIC RIM 2, the follow-up to 2013’s cinematic battle for global domination that took audiences to future Earth’s land, skies and seas and introduced an entirely new kind of warfare. Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Daredevil) directs the next chapter of the film that generated more than $400 million at the global box office, including a strong performance in China. The 3D epic adventure will be produced by returning PACIFIC RIM producers Thomas Tull, Guillermo del Toro and Mary Parent. Boyega joins the production team alongside Femi Oguns.

Interestingly, Boyega is the only cast member mentioned in the press release. With no mention of Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Hunnam or Charlie Day, one can only wonder if we'll see any of the survivors from the previous film.

In any case, we're excited and can't wait for Pacific Rim 2 to hit the big screen!

Harry Potter Actor Tom Felton Joins The Flash

The Flash is getting a little more magical next season.

The DC Entertainment drama has recruited Harry Potter vet Tom Felton in a series regular role.

Felton will play Julian Dorn, a fellow CSI at the Central City Police Department who suspects there’s more to Barry Allen than just his good guy reputation.

The English actor is not only known for playing sorcerer Draco Malfoy in all eight Harry Potter movies, but for roles in TNT’s anthology drama Murder in the First and the historical miniseries Labyrinth.

It was recently revealed that Season 3 of The Flash will be adapting the 2011 Geoff Johns graphic novel Flashpoint, which sees Barry altering the timeline after traveling back to stop his mother's murder. In this new world, the forces of Aquaman and Wonder Woman are at war and Bruce Wayne's father, Thomas, is The Batman.

Series star Grant Gustin says of next season: “We’re definitely doing this [Flashpoint] thing our own way…. This will be its own thing.”

The Flash returns Tuesday, October 4th at 8pm.

Brandon Routh Wants The Atom To Meet Superman

It was ten years ago that Brandon Routh became the Man Of Steel for Superman Returns and now, the actor is sending best wishes to Tyler Hoechlin. the actor who will be taking up the iconic role next season on Supergirl.

During a recent AMA session on Reddit, Routh was asked how he felt about Tyler Hoechlin taking on Superman on the CW series, to which he responded: “I wish him the best and hope to meet him if Ray gets to crossover to Supergirl!”

Given that a massive crossover between all the DC TV shows was teased back in May, we're guessing this could very well set up the possibility of Superman coming face-to-face with Brandon Routh, who is currently playing Ray Palmer, The Atom, in the DC TV Universe.

Tyler Hoechlin is the first actor to bring Superman to the small screen since Smallville ended in 2011.

What do you think? Would you like to see Clark and Ray battling bad guys on your TV next season?

Supergirl returns Monday, September 10th.

Carly Pope Joins Arrow As Hal Jordan's Sister-In-Law

Hal Jordan's sister-in-law is coming to Arrow next season.

TV Line has learned that Carly Pope of The Tomorrow People has been cast in the role of Susan Williams - who is the sister-in-law of Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the pages of DC Comics.

The trade describes the character as follows: “Susan Williams, a journalist from nearby Coast City who comes to Star City “looking to make a name for herself” by targeting Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) for a big story.”

Now, the inclusion of Williams is no guarantee that Hal Jordan will show up in the DC TV Universe, but we've been teased about the Green Lantern's possible involvement in this world since Season 1 of Arrow, so we must admit it'd be really great if he'd just show up already.

And now that Superman is set to make his full DC TV debut next season on Supergirl, the possibility of another major Justice League member existing in the DC TV Universe seems like a greater likelihood than ever before.

Starring Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Echo Kellum, Chad L. Coleman, Josh Segarra, Rick González, Tyler Ritter and Carly Pope, Arrow returns Wednesday, October 5th.

The Lego Batman Movie Is A 90-Minute Easter Egg

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have a pretty packed schedule these days. The Lego Movie duo is busy working on an animated Spider-Man movie for Sony, as well as the upcoming Han Solo movie. However, it's their next movie that has us truly excited - The Lego Batman Movie.

Will Arnett will be back to voice the beat boxin Batman, who pretty much stole the show in The Lego Movie back in 2014, along with Miller and Lord producing under new director Chris McKay.

“[McKay] is a real Batman aficionado and knows really arcane stuff that was only in one issue of the comic book in 1972,” Miller told Collider, “so it is chock-full of stuff for Batman aficionados. It is just a 90-minute Easter egg”.

And it sounds as though no incarnation of The Dark Knight will be safe.

“There is no favouritism, and there are no limits,” according to Lord. “It heavily honours the comics, so it covers all the way through to Batman v Superman."

May we suggest you watch the recently released Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition first?

The Lego Batman Movie flies into cinemas in February 2017.

And we can't wait to see it!

Heroes Unite In New Justice League Concept Art

The Ultimate cut of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice arrived on Digital HD yesterday, and with tm a look at what's to come from the DC Expanded Universe.

Aside from new looks at Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, the film also includes a beautiful piece of previously unseen concept art from Justice League, giving us a great look at the world's finest heroes united against all evil.

Check it out below, thanks to Twitter user @Nighthawkj2...

We're very impressed with the look of the DC squad posted above, but it's Flash and Cyborg that really stand out from the roster! Granted, this is all conceptual, but it's still very impressive.

What do you think, Infinite Earths fans?

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and J.K. Simmons, Justice League hits theatres on November 17th, 2017.

The Force Is Strong With This SDCC Hot Wheels Set

There is no doubt that the Death Star Trench Run is one of the most iconic scenes in the Star Wars saga and for this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Mattel is re-imagining the classic confrontation with Hot Wheels cars!

The Trench Run Hot Wheels Set includes four diecast cars inspired by Luke Skywalker's X-Wing, Darth Vader's TIE Fighter and the two additional TIE Fighters featured in the scene. The box acts as a display case and even features a removable top along with lights and sounds for that added sense of awesomeness that only a convention exclusive can pull off.

Check out official images of the set posted below...

Pretty slick looking set, if you ask us! Clearly, The Force Is Strong with Mattel this year!

The Trench Run Hot Wheels Set will be available for purchase exclusively at the Mattel booth during San Diego Comic Con for $50. And we're betting there's a pretty good chance this one will sell out fast.

San Diego Comic Con is being held from July 21st - 24th.
