Bumblebee Spinoff Heading To The 1980's

Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight looks as though it won't be the only movie set to explore the secret history of robots on Earth. According to a new article about expanding the Transformers cinematic universe, Empire Magazine has revealed that the upcoming Bumblebee spinoff will be set in the 1980s.

That's right, Infinite Earths fans! Everyone's favorite little Autobot is heading back to the time of DeLorean, Duran, Duran and Double Dragon! Aside from its setting, Empire Magazine also says that the film will feature considerably fewer Transformers than seen in past movies.

Set in the 1980s, it will feature considerably fewer Transformers, concentrating on the big, yellow star […] and likely pitching a little younger, tonally.

Production on the film is set to ramp up in July.

Expect more news on the Bumblebee movie soon!
