Pacific Rim: Uprising Moves To March 2018

Fans awaiting the release of Pacific Rim: Uprising will have to wait a little longer to join the action. Legendary has moved the sequel back a month, from February 23rd to March 23rd.

The film serves as a sequel to Guillermo del Toro's 2013 film set in a future with Earth at war with the Kaiju, monsters that emerged from an inter-dimensional portal at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. That flick starred Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Ron Perlman and Charlie Hunnam.

The sequel stars John Boyega as the son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost, and is set a full decade after the original. Jon Jashni, Femi Oguns, Mary Parent, and Thomas Tull are all producing alongside Guillermo del Toro.

Last month, at San Diego Comic Con, the first official teaser trailer for the film was released.

A new generation of Jaeger Pilots will stand tall for all humanity. What is a Jaeger? It’s you, times a thousand. Starring John Boyega, Jing Tian, Scott Eastwood, Rinko Kikuchi and Nick E. Tarabay, Pacific Rim: Uprising is directed by former Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight and arrives in theatres on March 23rd, 2018.
